4RA Supports St Columba’s Church, Topcliffe: A Day of Service and Connection...

In a display of community spirit and shared values, soldiers from the 4th Regiment Royal Artillery recently joined local residents to support the upkeep of St Columba’s Church in Topcliffe.

Led by Capt B Guthrie and Padre H Afful, the team worked alongside long standing community members John and Doug to carry out a variety of maintenance tasks around the church grounds.

From tidying the surrounding area to repainting the gates, railings, and church entrance, their efforts breathed new life into this cherished local landmark, enhancing its welcoming presence for all who visit.

The day was was a celebration of connection and shared purpose. The team was uplifted by the generosity of local residents, who provided refreshments throughout the day, ensuring spirits and energy remained high.

This simple act of hospitality exemplified the warmth and camaraderie that defines the Topcliffe community.

Following the completion of the tasks, the team was graciously invited to the Topcliffe Village Hall, where they were welcomed by friendly residents for well-earned rest, refreshments, and heartfelt conversation.

This gathering offered a moment to reflect on the day’s achievements and to strengthen the bonds between the Regiment and the local community.
